Giza Pyramids & Sphinx – Egyptian Museum – Cairo

Today we drive to the Giza plateau to see the great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mycerinus built around 2500 B.C.

Egyptian Museum

Back in Cairo visit the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities near Tahrir Square, which has the richest and most important collection of objects from Ancient Egypt in the world. The collection is constantly growing since the museum is the primary recipient of any finds made on the soil of Egypt. There you can contemplate the precious treasures of Tutankhamen, the most famous king of Ancient Egypt. The museum includes a Mummy Chamber with extra cost. Return to your hotel.

Uncover Egypt’s capital. Start at the Saladin Citadel, located on the spur of the Muqattam hills. It was the seat of the government and home of almost all rulers of Egypt. Enjoy visiting the Mohamed Ali Mosque erected within the walls of the Citadel. The alabaster Mohammed Ali Mosque built in 1824 is one of Cairo’s landmarks. Continue to Old Cairo. Here the remains of the old Babylon’s fortress walls partially surrounding the Coptic Quarter with its fascinating churches, the convent of St. George and the Ben Izra Synagogue.   • Opening hours of the Egyptian Museum are 09:00-19:00, on Fri 09:00-11:00 and 13:30-19:00. If you want to take photos you need to buy an extra ticket. The Mummy Chamber charges a separate fee; photos are not allowed here.
  • Opening hours of the Giza Pyramids are from 07:00-19:00 from April to September, from 08:00-16:00 from October to March.
  • Confirmation of the mentioned hotels depends on the availability, otherwise, the alternative will be another hotel with the same quoted tariff.
