Day 2
Pyramids of Giza & Sphinx – Cairo City – Cairo

Pyramids of Giza & Sphinx

Start your Egypt tour with a transfer to Giza Pyramids. Khufu’s pyramid is the northernmost and largest of the three. In classical antiquity it was considered as one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and is the only one to have survived. Khephren’s monument can be easily identified by the casing stones that still cling to its pointed top. The much smaller pyramid of Mycerinus had not been completed by the time of the king’s death. Its intended granite revetment was only partially applied. The Great Sphinx is part of the funerary complex of Khephren. Its impressive leonine body with the royal head is sculpted in an outcrop of the native limestone. Part of the face, including the nose, has been deliberately damaged.

Cairo City

Continue to Egyptian museum of Antiquities, which houses the world’s largest, most precious, and rare collection of genuine artifacts, over 250,000 piece are displayed dating back to 5000 years including an exhibit of the treasure collection of king Tutankhamen that had been sealed in his tomb for more than 3500 years and undiscovered until the early 20th century. End the day with a visit to the busy souq of Khan El Khalil. Back to the hotel and overnight.

Fly to Luxor – Karnak & Luxor Temple – Embarkation – Nile Cruise

Luxor Airport

In the morning, transfer to Cairo airport for your flight to Luxor. Luxor is located in the Upper Egypt, about 650km south of Cairo, flight from Cairo to Luxor lasts for about 1-hour.

Karnak & Luxor Temple

Upon arrival, with your guide short drive to the East Bank of Luxor. Proceed to the most important and most sacred of the sites, the Temple of Luxor. It was built by one of the kings of the 12th dynasty and completed by the well-known king Ramses II. The temple was conceived as a remote southern annex to the temple of Karnak, at a distance of about 3 km from it. Hence, it faces the Karnak Temple, and was connected to it by a long processional avenue, flanked by rows of sphinxes on either side. Have a wonderful tour to Karnak Temples, which are the largest structures ever build in the history of mankind. The principal building is that of god Amun Ra, which is the melting pot of religion and politics.

Luxor West Bank – Sail to Edfu – Nile Cruise

Valley of the Kings

Today transfer to the West Bank where you can explore the Necropolis Thebes. Visit magnificent Valley of the Kings. The most concentration of royal tombs in Ancient Egypt. It is where cut in rocks tombs for 62 famous kings of the New Kingdom, all are highly decorated and filled with priceless artwork.

Queen Hatshepsut Temple

Visit the Hatshepsut temple built and named after the powerful Queen Hatshepsut the only woman who ascended the throne of Egypt in ancient times. This temple is located at Deir el-Bahari, a steep cliff in the shape of a horseshoe form a natural background to two monumental buildings standing side by side, each belonging to a different period.

Cruise

Back to the cruise, enjoy dinner and overnight while you sail to Edfu.

Day 5
Edfu Temple – Kom Ombo Temple – Sail to Aswan – Nile Cruise

Edfu

Breakfast on board. The tour begins by visiting the Temple of Horus in Edfu, which is considered to be one of the most well-preserved temples in Egypt. It is also the repository of the most detailed legacy on matters of cult and temple function. You’ll have your lunch back on board the ship and sail on to Kom Ombo.

In the afternoon you will have time to explore the Temple of Kom Ombo, where you’ll learn about the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Horus, whose monuments decorate each half of the temple.

Aswan Visit – Nile Cruise

High Dam

Visit to the High Dam of Aswan, Egypt’s modern example of construction on a monumental scale. The controversial Aswan High Dam contains 18 times the amount of material used in the Great Pyramid of Khufu and created Lake Nasser, the world’s largest artificial lake.

Unfinished Obelisk

Transfer to visit the Unfinished Obelisk which still lies in its granite bed in the quarry, left behind because of a severe flaw in the stone.

Temple of Philae

Enjoy a marvellous tour to the Temple of Isis on the island of Philae which was famous during the Greco-Roman period. There you can see, in front of the first pylon, two granite lions. On the walls of the temple of Philae were inscribed the latest hieroglyphic and demotic inscriptions.

Transfer back to the cruise for ravishing dinner. Overnight on board cruise.

Madain Saleh – Elephant Rock – Al Ula

Madain Saleh

Start the day visiting the ancient site of Madain Saleh formerly known as Hegra, located within the Al Madinah Region in the Hejaz, Saudi Arabia. The Archaeological Site is the first World Heritage property to be inscribed in Saudi Arabia. It is also the largest conserved site of the civilization of the Nabataeans south of Petra in Jordan. Discover well-preserved monumental tombs with decorated facades dating from the 1st century BC to the 1st century AD, around 50 inscriptions of the pre-Nabataean period and some cave drawings. With its 111 monumental tombs, 94 of which are decorated, and water wells, the site is an outstanding example of the Nabataeans’ architectural accomplishment and hydraulic expertise.
